Restorative Dentistry: Bridges
What is a dental bridge?
A dental bridge uses a false tooth that is held in place by abutment teeth on either side of the gap…”Bridging the gap”.The pontic can be made out of porcelain, gold or metal.
What happens during a dental bridge?
Teeth on either side of the gap will be prepared. Then impressions of your teeth will taken and sent to a dental lab, where they fabricate the bridge. A temporary bridge is placed in your mouth, while waiting for the final bridge. Once received, we cement it in 🙂
