Preventive Dentistry: X-rays

What is a dental X-ray?
Dental radiographs (x-rays) are used with low-levels of radiation to capture images of your teeth and their surrounding structures.

How often is it safe to have dental x-rays?
Everyone is different and x-rays are taken for various reasons. Depending on the patient’s needs, x-ray intervals can range from 12 to 24 months. Dental x-rays are deemed safe for children and adults because they have extremely low radiation exposure. You receive more radiation on flight to Europe!
