Endodontic Dentistry: Root Canals
What is a root canal?
It’s the process of removing infected or injured dental pulp from inside the crown and roots of a tooth.
What happens during root canal therapy?
The root canal(s) will be disinfected, shaped and filled with a natural rubber-like material called gutta percha.
Does root canal treatment hurt?
Local anesthesia will be administered prior to the procedure to minimise discomforts. About 5-10% of patients do experience post-operative flare ups.
